It’s my first time in Egypt, and so far, it’s been great, people are very hospitable, they have been very nice, and we have been very well taken care of.
The atmosphere is good, unfortunately, we had a little incident this morning with our number 4, she twisted her ankle, I just hope she is going to be fine, especially as it’s her first time in the World Teams!
Apart from that incident, the players are in a good mood, we had a good match against France, it was good to see some game plan working. Happy that they listen to me, sometimes that is! Some times more than others…
Apart from Maarit, they all played at the World Champs before, but actually, this is my first World Champs as a coach. I did the Europeans, but first time in the Worlds! I’m super excited, it was one of my goals to be coach for the senior teams, I have been coach the National Team for juniors, and I have been coaching full time for 10 years now, so I’m living my dream!
I’m super happy, it’s such an honour for me to be here. Some of the players consider that as normal, a bit blazé, but for me it’s a big thing, I’m super thrilled, it’s such a pleasure to be with them, I’m learning a lot from them, and I’m really chuffed!
