Day Four – Pools final day
The Pool stages are complete and the Quarter-Final lineups settled, with Hong Kong producing the upset of the tournament as they beat third seeds England in a 15-game thriller.
In the matches to decide top positions in the Pools, top seeds Egypt and USA both cruised to victory – against 7/8 seeds Canada and Scotland – without dropping a game, while fourth seeds France went two up over Malaysia to secure top spot in Pool D with Malaysia winning the ‘dead rubber’.
The match of the day though, was Hong Kong’s victory over third seeds England, with all three matches going the full five games.
