David Evans (coach to Wales)

“Obviously we came from being 4th seed to being 16th or 17th seed so, it shows that when you are losing a player of Tesni’s level, one day before we go away, you know it’s going to be tough, and it’s going to be a hard week.

“It’s a good experience for some of the girls, and playing Canada today, it was obviously a tough match, but to actually go 1/1, in the last match, actually having a chance of the win, was fantastic and a really good effort from the girls.

“We’ve got a good base of a team, we are trying to get their level up to actually, having Tesni, Emily and Joel in the men to inspire the next group of players and get them to that level.

“Lowri had a good win today, it was fantastic, we see what she can do at home, but it’s good she has done it now for Wales, it should give her a lot of confidence as well.

“Tonight, another match against Egypt, that will be another tough one. A great experience, on an outdoor court for the girls, in Egypt against the World’s best, and trying to learn from it. Then a day off, then Switzerland, hopefully the girls will be freshed, I’m the one more exhausted, playing all the shots over the court!!”….
